Question 85

What doth God require of us that we may escape his wrath and curse due to us for sin?

Scripture

  1. Acts 20:21 [1]
testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (ESV)
  2. Proverbs 8:1–5 [2]
The Blessings of Wisdom Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud: “To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man. O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense. (ESV)
  3. Proverbs 8:33–36 [2]
Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD, but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.” (ESV)
  4. Isaiah 55:3 [2]
Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. (ESV)
