Question 20

Are all men, then, saved by Christ just as they perished through Adam?

Scripture

  1. Matthew 7:14 [1]
For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. (ESV)
  2. John 1:12 [1]
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, (ESV)
  3. John 3:16 [1]
For God So Loved the World “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (ESV)
  4. John 3:18 [1]
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (ESV)
  5. John 3:36 [1]
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (ESV)
  6. Romans 11:16–21 [1]
If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. (ESV)
